September 2013 – Driver of the Month

We would like to give special thanks to Ivan Leech (524), Ron Webster (777) & Dave Bangartt (87) for taking the time to represent Payne Transportation LP in the 2013 World’s Largest Truck Convoy for Special Olympics.

Update:  170 tractor/trailers participated and raised $55,000 for Special Olympics Manitoba.  

 

June 2013 Driver of the Month

Leonid and RichardWe have a tie!  Congratulations go out to both Richard Wonnacott (3570) & Leonid Koval (518) for June 2013′s Driver of the Month Reward.

Richard is no stranger to this award!  Richard has been a nominee 3 times!  He earned Driver of the Month in January 2012, earning his Driver of the Month Melton Leather jacket.  Richard has chosen to receive a gift certificate that both he and his wife will be able to enjoy… way to go Richard!

Leonid is part of the van division, and has been with Payne less than a year!   Leonid has left quite an impression with all those who work with him!  As the co-winner of the Driver of the Month, Leonid receives the Driver of the Month Melton Leather jacket and lunch at Sun Valley Restaurant in Winnipeg.

Jake & Frieda Unrau - April Drivers of the MonthCongratulations to Frieda & Jacob Unrau (171) for April 2013′s Driver of the Month Award.  Frieda & Jacob are part of Payne’s deck fleet, and are dispatched out of the Winnipeg Branch.  

When asked what they like best about being a Payne owner operator, they responded…  “We are treated fairly, no one has lied to us…. it is such a great place to work, from dispatch to the admin staff, we get treated like people, not a number.”

Both drivers are now sporting a Driver of the Month jacket (pictured above) and two gift certificates for lunch at The Sun Valley Restaurant.

Manitoba’s Outstanding Transport Trailer Technician

 On April 26th, at the Winnipeg Convention Center, Manitoba Entreprenership, Training and Trade recognized our very own Anders Veldkamp as Manitoba’s outstanding new journeyperson in Transport Trailer Technician.  Criteria for the highest achiever Certificate of Recognitionin each trade are based on performance throughout all levels of apprenticeship training, including both practical and technical training.  Anders was selected from all apprentices in this trade category who completed their apprenticeship training during 2012.  Way to go Anders!

As the employer, Barry Veldkamp (Manager – Maintenance & Inventory)  was presented with the “Employer’s Certification of Recognition” for the suppport and mentorship provide throughout the apprenticeship training period.  This has been the 2nd time for Payne to have been recognized for this award, well done Barry!

We will be hosting a special BBQ lunch celebrating Anders achievement on Friday, May 3rd, at head office in Winnipeg.

March 2013 Driver of the Month

Ottumwa, Iowa baler loadCongratulations to Bryan Pedlow (3242) for March 2013′s Driver of the Month.  Bryan is no stranger to this award, he also recieved this award September 2011.  As a recipient of a Driver of the Month Melton Leather jacket in 2011, Bryan has opted for a gift certificate of his choice.  He and his lovely wife will enjoy a $100 gift certificate for Montana’s restaurant.  Way to go Bryan!
